We are Seattle’s hotel workers. Every year, we welcome over 36 million visitors to King County. As Seattle grows and hotel owners and developers make more and more money, we’re being left behind. With development comes higher rents and heavier traffic. As members of UNITE HERE Local 8 fighting to create and keep good hospitality jobs in Seattle, it’s important to us that the voices of hospitality workers are heard in public conversations around affordable housing and transportation. Our hard work brings tourists to visit Seattle, and it should afford us the ability to live here ourselves. New development should mean new opportunities and better lives for us all.
Let’s make Seattle more hospitable for everyone.
