I’m dealing with, in the last four years, a husband who’s had massive addiction problems. Sometimes he’s trying and sometimes he hasn’t tried to get better. I’m facing the decision of, if I can’t even afford something a far out as Maple Valley, how in the world am I going to be able to live in the state? If he doesn’t get it together I’m going to have to move out of state.
It’s not just affordability; it’s affordability and finding a nice place in which to raise children. I’m affected and my kids are affected by all of these issues. Not realizing how messed up he was in the addiction, I wasn’t paying enough attention to the finance situation like I should have been. There are a lot of people like me. The spouse has made a stupid decision and it’s messed up the whole family.”
