Abele, Banquet Server

Abele Eddie Thomas

The city is growing up pretty quick. The rich people are coming in and opening businesses and making more money so that’s part of the game.  Sometimes we feel like we shouldn’t have cell phones because it’s just so expensive for us for the whole family. Electric is going through the roof, and water. Food is getting so expensive. I used to spend $200-$250 a month on food, now I have to spend at least $800 a month for six people including me. Milk used to be $1.25 and now its $4. When I moved here, the population was under 3 million, now it’s 5 million. I just remember I used to pay $450 downtown for a 1-bedroom, now the same 1-bedroom is $1500.”
